OpenLink reasantly announced their JDBC drivers for Informix that are used over their ODBC drivers (I think). All of this can be downloaded from their webserver (www.openlinksw.com) for free for one month testing. If you expect someone to make products like this "non commercial" you may be expecting to much. I know of no non commercial ODBC drivers so I wouldn't expect any such JDBC drivers any time soon. I haven't tested these drivers yet. That will take some time because it's still a bit too hard to write Java programs (the VB/Delphi like tools aren't quite there yet). If you (or anyone else) do test them please post your results here. It would be extremely interesting to hear about any type of results. If Java can be made to work (reasonably fast and reliably) it is a very interesting language as it can potentially be used for all types of applications.
