Try running: rpm -K --nopgp glibc-2.0.7-30kfd.i386.rpm You should see something like: glibc-2.0.7-30kfd.i386.rpm: size md5 OK If you do not get the OK, then the package was probably corrupted during the download and you should download again. You might even want to try a different mirror site in case the original package is no good.
