FW: Microsoft ODBC & Informix

Has anyone had any experience with this while NOT using third party ODBC software? I know that there are many providers out there (Bull, Independence, Intersolv, Informix, Visionware etc.) but . . . Is it possible to use one less layer of complexity? Is it possible to get it down to just 2 places to point out problems to? Is it possible not to go to SQL Server? TIA, Tim mcgaugh@hasting.com
