Have you checked the file ownership and groups on the Informix executable
files. I seem to recall you can run a ./install......, (provided you can
find the serial number and key) which will reset the correct values.
There is also a utility around somewhere to do this (I think - try the iiug
archives.).
I would make sure everything is backed up first, just in case.
