setnet32 Performance Question

Are there any tuning parameters for setnet32? Were are using setnet32 on NT workstations to interface powerbuilder to Informix 7.22 through onsoctcp. Response/throughput is less than desirable. Running the same SQL statements through DBACCESS provides the (sub-second) response time we had expected, so actual db design and performance doesn't appear to be the issue. The network is "coasting" and the terminal emulation to DBACCESS is "snappy". Powerbuilder folks at Sybase have been no help (duh!). Suggestions as to where to start?
