I'd increase the size of the logical log files. 512K is a very small
number. The default in 9.40 is 2000K. I've got an OLTP database with about
800+ users and I use 100MB logfiles. I get about 1 log filling an hour. I
have enough of them so I can always go at least 24 hours without a backup,
in case of a storage manager failure. Check out the admin guide for the
Informix recommendations.
