Within a stored procedure on Informix 7.3, can someone please tell me what data type I can use to hold an unlimited number of characters. The universe is finite; there is no way to store an unlimited number of characters in a finite universe. IDS 7.3 is considerably more finite than the universe. The maximum size variable you can manipulate in a stored procedure is CHAR(32767). You can have references to TEXT blobs, but you can't manipulate those. -- Yours, Jonathan Leffler (Jonathan.Leffler@Informix.com) #include <disclaimer.h> Guardian of DBD::Informix v1.00.PC1 -- http://www.perl.com/CPAN "I don't suffer from insanity; I enjoy every minute of it!"
