Almost all of the other >major DB vendors have some sort of Windows access. OK, here's the scoop. We wrapped up beta on ESQL/C, I-SQL, and I-Net PC 4.1 for DOS/Windows a few weeks ago. Final touches on code and doc are being done, and release can be expected in under two months. Supported network protocols will include PCNFS, FTP, WIN (or actually pathway acess these days), stargroup, and spx/ipx. I think we also support DOS 5.0 and MSC 6.0. We know there's huge demand out there, and we're going as fast as we can. Sounds corny, but we really want to release a quality product. We've also kept down the hype until this late day to avoid being accused of marketing vaporware. A full blown press announcement won't be made until the product is actually shipping, although what I saying here is public knowledge (just not too public :-)). A DOS/Windows local engine (SE 4.1) will be coming in about one more quarter or less. And my obligatory jab at the competition - our products will support 386/enhanced mode, unlike some other well- known RDBMS vendors..... --Neil
