If you use on-bar with any storage manager, you can do point in time
recovery or to a specific log no. Both work well. I did it multiple
times with Alexandria on IDS 7.30/731.UC2.

Ah, perhaps I should have been more specific.
I was assuming that if a table had been deleted accidentally and he wanted
to restore it, it would *not* be okay to simply restore to a point-in-time
before the table was dropped, because then any changes to the rest of the
instance since the deletion would be lost; that is, it is not possible to
restore only one table to a point-in-time: the entire instance must be
recovered to the same point-in-time. Of course, I could be wrong about
this (about the part where he didn't want to restore the whole instance
back to the point in time, I mean -- I'm quite sure I'm right about the
rest).
Could just be me: if you have a hammer, everything looks like a nail.

Please do not send Informix questions to this account.
I would add 'Please do not send spam to this account'
but I suppose I would be wasting my bits.
