Re: Informix on SUN vs HP

Call me prejudiced, but I'd take a Sun box anytime over an HP box. HP needs to weed out their bugs on their new 64 bit HP-UX 11.x, their multithreading works like a dog, there're more, but these are definite show stoppers. Solaris has great thread library and the Ultra 3500 we have works great. The only thing Solaris doesn't have that HP-UX has is SAM, comes in handy sometimes. Take a look at SGI's Origin and O2, I was impressed with the Origin with 8 CPU's and 2GB memory. Also, Digital Unix is another good environment.
