Ontape Restore Merging Servers

Informix Dynamic Server Version 7.31.UD2 uname -srv : AIX 2 5 I've been asked to assist with a server migration from machines A and B to machine C. Machine A has IDS server A. Machine B has IDS server B. Machine C will have IDS server A. This new server A is supposed to have the combined data from original server A and original server B. I have discovered that the original plan was to restore Machine A, Server A to Machine C, Server A followed by a merge of the Server B information via ontape restore. The initial restore of Server A to Machine C has been successfully completed. The next step that was attempted was an ontape -r -D <DbSpaceList> which has not been successful. I didn't think this would work and have suggested a dbexport/dbimport of the necessary data from server B. I can't find any other cases like this in CDI in my searches this morning, nor have I found it in the documentation. Can the two servers be merged together with ontape (or onbar)? Is dbexport/dbimport the logical choice to perform this action? Thanks in advance for the help. Gary Andrus
