Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.
Does anyone know of a good way of checking logging is running for a
particular instance for a multiple instance environment so that I can
automate the checking in a script.
'ps -ef | grep ontape' returns 2 ontape -c processes with the same owner.
If only one process was running I'm not sure I'd know which instance has
dropped out.
onstat -l could do it but would only show after a period of time if logswere not being backed up and would require many repeat checks for
confirmation
None of the other onstat flags seem to tell you whether logging is running
or not
Any help would be much appreciated
