I am not saying that 4GL is perfect and cannot be improved. There have been many good suggestions in this newsgroup on how the language can be improved, including the ones you made. But Informix-4GL is a programming language. I was simply reacting to an article that demanded that it be something else. (e.g. a forms generator like SQL*Forms) I like having a tool that is a true programming language. It provides the flexibility essential for complex business applications which, IMHO, SQL*Forms does not. -- =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Randall Rhea Informix Software, Inc.
