defunct sqlexec w/SE&ODBC

I have a client who is using Microsoft Access to access an Informix-SE 7.1 database on DEC Unix 3.2c. We're using pass-through queries and the Intersolv Informix 2.5 ODBC driver. Clients are NT 3.51, Win95, and NT 4.0. The problem is that after queries are completed, the sqlexec process hangs and then becomes defunct. There is no way for us to access the CLI routine that will release the server resources. Any ideas?
