TEXT type / querying

Hi, we need to store plain text in a table with possibility to search on it. New to Informix, I had a look at the text character types. A LVARCHAR(4000) is too small (largest text atm 118K), so we need another solution. I thought about using the TEXT type, but apparently you can't do queries (LIKE) on that. What is usually used for this? How do you query on it if TEXT? Thanks for the info, Jeroen
