BLOB Stamp Incorrect

Hello, Enviornment- AIX 4.0, single cpu, IBM MicroChannel box, Informix On Line 5.01.UD2. Two chunks of BLOB spaces, 1st 1,999,496 rows, second 599,496 rows. Symptom- Running Diagnostics on data returns the following: "ISAM err: BLOB Stamp is incorrect.." Attempted Solution- Repair BLOBS takes 6 days to finish 1,700,000 rows. I had to stop to avoid the hangman.
