The Informix "Big Book"

At about 12:30 am PST we deployed a large Informix 7.12 database on the Internet as www.bigbook.com, running on SGI Challenge boxes. This project took about 4 months from start to completion and I doubt very much that we could have pulled it off using anything other than Informix. Online is truly amazing. It is the most feature rich, stable, scalable database management system I have ever worked with. I think we have exercised just about every feature of the product, and done some things that are "creative work arounds" and really unsupported by Informix, but in all cases we were successful. I'd like to thnak the people who have helped (perhaps unknowingly) in this feat. I have posted frequently to this list and have had several replies--thank you. I have also bugged Informix technical support on several occasions and despite often waiting too long on hold, found them helpful and knowledgeable--thank you.
