"too many tables locked"

I get this message when I run dbload. I have a command file with the FILE a.unl DELIMITER "|" 10; INSERT INTO a; It gets to about 50 tables and aborts with the "too many tables locked" message. I have 270 tables I'm trying load. I've raised my TBLSPACES parameter to 500. Do I just need to break this up into smaller pieces?
