Hi, I had the environment Digital with INFORMIX-OnLine Version 7.23.FC1 The year 2000 bug forced me to upgrade my operating system to Digital 4.0D and INFORMIX-OnLine to version 7.24.FC6 . I tried to execute my application, without re-compiling it, but I received the following error: NOT FOUND igl4a02b.so I would like to know if a really need to recompile my application or if a can copy the required file from other site with the old version (7.23.FC1 - in the new version of Informix I get the file igl4a303.so instead). Does anybody can help me. Thanks in advance, fred cox

Yes you can run the old application by making the older libraries available. It is safest to use ONLY 7.23 libraries and not mix the 7.23 and 7.24 libraries. The BEST way to do this is to install a copy of iConnect 7.23 in a separate sub-directory and set LD_LIBRARY_PATH to search the iConnect 7.23 location first for the 7.23 applications and the iConnect 7.24 location first for newer applications compiled with 7.24. This can be accomplished by renaming the older apps and replacing them with a shell script that set the proper environment and then runs the renamed executable. Once the app has been recompiled you can overwrite the shell script with the new version of the executable. Art S. Kagel Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ Before you buy.
