LTX follow-up
Posted in 1994
Thank you Alan, Cary, and Cathy for the insight on my long transaction abort, via an sql query using the NOT EXISTS method to identify rows in one table that cannot be matched to a row in another table. Yes, a temp table was created for the sub select even though sqexplain.out kept this information a secret. The query was reworked to first create a temp table with no log and then to delete from that table the rows that matched the other table, leaving behind the rows that I wanted to identify. Either there was no logging, or the logging fit within the logs as configured, because no LTX occurred. Since this query is a 1-shot, it would not be worth it to reconfigure the logs. Thanks again...
