Informix Connect for Win32
Help!
I am having a difficult time getting this version of I/Net to work and
the documentation is not all that great. I am running INFORMIX-Connect
using Win95. I am trying to connect using TCP/IP. If I run I/net 5.01,
I am able to connect successfully.
On our Sun server, I have:
+++ Hostname +++
radar
+++ Services File +++
radar_tcp 1545/tcp
+++ Hosts File +++
<ip addr> radar
+++ Sqlhosts File +++
radar_ol ontlitcp radar radar_shm
radar_spr ontlitcp radar radar_tcp
+++ Onconfig +++
dbservername radar_ol
dbserveraliases radar_spr
On my client, I have:
+++ Hosts File +++
<ip addr> radar
+++ Services File +++
radar_tcp 1545/tcp
When I try to connect via I-Login v 7.2, I have no success!!!
I have tried numerous combinations, but still no luck.
Based upon the above configuration, what would you recommend entering
for:
Server:_______
Hostname: _____
Servicename: _____
Protocolname: ____
Is is possible that INFORMIX-Connect does not like my winsock.dll (BSD
Socket API for windows, v.400.950)?
Is anyone using this version?
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
