I am having the same issue on 11.70.FC4. I set the TEMPTAB_NOLOG to 1, I've bounced the server, I've dropped/recreated the views in question, and my rootdbs is still filling up.
Do you have temp dbspaces configured? Do you have both temp and non-temp dbspaces (other than rootdbs) listed in DBSPACETEMP? If not, try configuring temp dbspaces and listing both temp and normal dbspaces in DBSPACETEMP. Also make sure that your client environment isn't setting DBSPACETEMP differently from the setting in the ONCONFIG file since user environment settings override the server's default for those user sessions. Art, Thanks for the reply. Yes, I have temp spaces configured. I did not have a normal dbspace in my DBSPACETEMP list, only had temporary dbspaces. I added one, restarted informix, and rootdbs still filled. The client had nothing set for DBSPACETEMP. I even tried added the same DBSPACETEMP spaces as my onconfig to the client, still filled rootdbs.
Very odd. At this point with normal dbspace in DBSPACETEMP and TEMPTAB_NOLOG set, the only temp tables in rootdbs should be ones creates with an explicit IN clause.
