You may need to investigate the use of I-NET ( Informix NET ) and CLI ( Call Level Interface ). I-NET is an sqlexecd daemon that sits on the Unix server waiting for client requests usually from CLI which sits on your PC. CLI SDK ( software development kit ) is available FOC from www.informix.com. As for I-NET you may need to purchase this. Hope this helps
