That mistake (incorrect claim of not more than 255 keys per index page) was mine - there isn't a limit on the number of keys per index page. Probably some other people have already said as much, but I've not read the more recent messages yet - and I'm quite willing to 'fess up to (a) top posting and (b) mistakes when I make them.
