Insert command undoing itself in XENIX

I have a strange problem with Informix 4gl ver 4.0 running under SCO XENIX ver 2.3.4. I have 4 locations running the same 4gl software. Two of the locations are using the "latest" version of XENIX. Our source code in the program that gives us the trouble reads a transaction table called "payments", and inserts data and/or updates information in three tables called "aropen", "arolog", and "prosp_hist". After the update takes place the records in the "payments" table are deleted. When we run the program, all appears to operate normally. We even go and check the tables involved to make sure. However the next day the "payments" table is back in full and the "aropen", "arolog", and "prosp_hist" tables are as if the program had never been run at all. The information that was inserted or updated vanishes but does appear as it did before the program was run. i I think it may have something to do with XENIX not saving to disk but instead saving to memory. This only occurs with XENIX 2.3.4, Not one of the earlier versions. We have tried putting RUN "sync" in the program several times to no avail. Does anybody have any sugestions?
