Using MS Access as a front-end to informix database

I have the following problem with Ms Access used as a front-end to an informix database that resides on a unix machine. I've configured the odbc drivers as well as possible to have all work. For a while, I could do anything, but now, I can only select, delete and insert rows in my attached tables. When I try to update a row with a querry written under MS access I get an error message which says: "the operation must use a querry that can be updated". Error code 3073. If this can help, I can tell you that informix version under unix is v4.12, I'm running informix client SDK under Windows NT4.0 (SP3) and MS access 97. Regards.
