Are you connecting with SHM connectors? Have you tried exporting this in the
shell:
INFORMIXSHMBASE=16384
perhaps with a few different parameters until it starts to work. Depending
on the O/S, I think this parameter might need setting for the engine too
before starting it up. HP is one, don't know about Intel/Linux.
This parameter affects the address that the shared memory is plugged into a
running program. If it conflicts with some other memory segment then the
process will core dump. Changing this parameter shifts the attachment point.
