Error 922

Hi, I encountered this error (-922) when I turned off the read permission of my current working directory (ie. PWD). I need to do this for some security reason. Is there a way I can overcome this. BTW, why is there a need to have read access to the PWD? Thanks in advance Lim Han Chiew
