We are in the process of moving from Oracle Rdb to Informix. I'm interested in suggestions/recommendation re: DBA Tools to assist in things like monitoring performance, troubleshooting, disaster recovery. I'm used to a significant degree of tools being included with Rdb and others from DEC or ORACLE and third-party vendors. We also have DB2, and are used to various tools from vendors like BMC (Catalog Manager, Change Manager). We are trying to do some capital forecasting for next fiscal year and would like some pointers to where to look. Those of us supporting the applications and databases are complete novices when it comes to AIX or Informix. Yeah, it may not make sense. This decision was made by another group with the full intention of re-training. Thanks in advance, pnsoehl -- No opinions, just FAX! Uhh... I mean FACTS!
