I'd have to agree with your other reply; Legato works, but it's REAL time consuming to implement and full of "trial and error". As a mater of fact, the reason I saw your posting was that I was searching for others who might be using Legato. So far, I can't find a seperate discussion group or even a users group. We were "given" a three day class when we bought the product. It didn't begin to deal with the challenge of actually getting Legato to work the way you would like it to. Of course I may be asking for too much, an automated approach to a manual system of grabbing the next tape in the stack, doing the intended backup (L0, 1 or 2), and repeating this whole process once a week while cycling through 3 sets of tapes. The time the operators spend "messing" with tapes has actually increased and they feel like they have no control over the whole situation. Good Luck!
