Define a new dbserver name by using DBSERVERALIASES in your onconfig file. 2. Add a new dbserver entry with the same name to your sqlhosts file, using the new IP address. 3. Change your INFORMIXSERVER environment variable to the new dbserver name. 4. You will need to bounce your database server.
