Hi. I have proved an applicacion with set optimization low. I didn't notice any difference on performance, except when tables, indexes and store procedures change very often, but a productive environment isn't on this situation. By the way, I had problems due to locks on sysprocplan also. My preferred workaround was directive SET LOCK MODE TO WAIT. In this case applications waits until sysprocplan is released - it waits usually less than a second -.
