SELECT BLOB Descriptor

Is there any way to return the actual 56-byte BLOB descriptor from an Informix table? I am trying to make copies of certain rows of a table (that contains a BYTE column) in another table. I would like the two tables to point to the same image in the blobspace. -Curt
