Hi all,
My question is :
After executing the ontape utility to backup the database, a transaction
begin and terminate before ontape has finished his job. This new transaction
will be included in the backup or not ?
thanks for any help, I am wating for your response friends !!

No it will not. Depending on version IDS uses one of two methods to
determine what pages to archive, either way the results are the same.
During the archive the first time a page is modified the physical log
pre-image of the unmodified page is copied to a temp table corresponding
to the dbspace to which that page belongs. When all of the chunks
belonging to a dbspace have been completely copied to the archive media
(IDS archive dbspace by dbspace) the corresponding temp table's contents
are also dumped to the archive (in 7.2x the table continues to grow but is
now ignored as the dbspace is safely on tape, in 7.3x the temp table is
dropped and any other pages from that dbspace that are modified are
ignored). In this way the archive process just copies pages sequentially
from disk chunks to tape without regard for which version of a page it is
getting then the original versions are appended to the dbspace's archive
on the media. When the archive is restored the pre-modification copy of
the page will overwrite any the modified version of the page if it was
actually flushed to disk before it could be archived.
In this manner Informix produces a consistent point-in-time archive.

AFAIK ontape -s -L0 always writes the last logical log to the backup
device.
I thought that is to backup all transactions happening during the
backup, so
at the end of the backup all data and transactions are on the backup
device.
Correct me if I´m wrong.
