Actually, SQL server supports row-level for inserts. Odd, eh? It just tended to exasperate our problem, since the deadlock-inducing SPs were kicked off by triggers on inserts. Go fig -- slowing down the inserts with locking problems actualleped up our overall system by reducing the number of deadlocks. -Richard
