Q+E INFORMIX

Q+E for remote access REQUIRES I-NET PC and I-NET. If I have the Q+E INFORMIX driver, and am running the I-NET deamon on my server and have TCP/IP why do I NEED I-NET PC? Am I tied down to I-NET PC and the few TCP/IP packages it supports? Please e-mail me a copy of your post :) Thanks.
