SERV = sqlexec The Informix configuration (using setnet32.exe) requires a Service name. The SERV entry should match the entry in the services file on the web server. The PRO (protocol) entry should work either way, but I have not tried it... -----Original Message----- From: David V'squez Estrada [mailto:vasquezd@ucbcba.edu.bo] Sent: Tuesday, March 23, 1999 3:30 PM To: Schaeflein, Paul; informix-list@iiug.org Subject: Re: ODBC connection via ASP > > > - make sure that the connection string has *ALL* of the Informix > settings > > - Example from my ASP: > > "DSN=SystemDSN;UID=user;PASSWORD=passwd;DB=dbname; > > > > HOST=hostname;SERV=sqlexec;SRVR=server_name;PRO=onsoctcp;UID=user;" > > > > The SRVR is the DBSERVERNAME from $ONCONFIG. dear sir. Is your web server and database server on the same machine? We separate it into difference servers and the SERV entry already in the service file is on the database server. I have tried your suggestion, but I still fail! Any idea or suggestion can give me? Thanks!
