Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.
Re: Comparative between DB2, Informix and Oracle
Answered: grey (hollow confidence) — Pure banter fragment ('Oracle is unbreakable' / 'DB2 heals itself') of the broader DB2/Informix/Oracle comparison thread; the real original question lives in the other fragments of this broken-threaded conversation.
Joke exchange from a thread comparing DB2, Informix and Oracle. DA Morgan quipped Oracle would be unbreakable. Michael Krzepkowski said it does not run from the same code base, and DA Morgan replied that transportable tablespaces moved a partition from Linux to Windows and Macintosh. Art Kagel and Captain Pedantic added sarcastic remarks. No technical resolution.

And it would be unbreakable. ;-)

But it does not run from the same code base.
(Just couldn't resist).

Like a concrete canoe? A steel kite? A petrified egg?

Actually it does. Thursday of last week we had a workshop at Oracle Day
where we took a table partition in Redhat Linux and, using transportable
tablespaces, moved it into Windows. Later I moved it to a Macintosh
without a single issue.

And what's more, DB2 actually heals itself!
