Hi, I keep getting this error everytime I try to connect to Informix through SQL. I have checked the following: 1. Host file on both servers 2. services file on the sql server 3. put the server information in the IBM Informix Setnet32 tool 4. checked to make sure the server name was correct 5. I can ping each respective server from sql and from informix Not sure if anyone has seen this and a solution. TITLE: Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: An exception occurred while executing a Transact-SQL statement or batch. (Microsoft.SqlServer.ConnectionInfo) Cannot initialize the data source object of OLE DB provider "Ifxoledbc" for linked server "EXETER_HVD". Did ypu define a windows odbc connection? SQL Server will be trying to use that type of connection rather than a native Informix connection defined in setnet32. OLE DB uses COM technology, make sure the driver has register correctly= You may re register it by using cd $(INFORMIXDIR)\\\\bin regsvr32 ifxoledbc.dll Regards, Satyan Advisory Software Engineer R&D - IBM Information Management Division 11200 Lakeview, Lenexa, KS 66219 Tel: 913 599 8792 (T/L: 337-8792) From: "DANETTE MONDOU" <danette.mondou@kaman.com> To: ids@iiug.org Date: 08/27/2014 12:54 PM Subject: Data Source ifxoledbc linked server error 7303 [33601] Sent by: ids-bounces@iiug.org Hi, I keep getting this error everytime I try to connect to Informix through SQL. Thanks everyone for your help. I had not enabled the OLEDB on the database server. Once I did that step it worked.
