Hi, It is a common miss uderstanding that all versions of INET 5.01 above WF2 have memory leaks. In fact this is not true. However the reason why people this think there is is becouse they see a great memory loss in the engine when using such versions as 5.01.Wj2 etc. This is due to a new option that was added to the ESQL/c libs. which requires all ESQL/c applications to be recompiled with the -ecd flag. If this is not done cursors free statments will not work and all memory held by a cursor will be held ontill the end of the session. (required by some people !!) Many people also claim thay are not using ESQL/c therefore are not affected by this. (Still not always true.) You must remember the ODBC drivers are all build using ESQL/C hance the ODBC drives may need to be upgraded is you upgrade INET above 5.01.WF2. This is a long winded discription of the problem, but hope it helps Regards Ian Kelly Dave Otto wrote: > Informix-Net (I-NET) drivers are required to use most > ODBC connections. 16-bit versions (windows 3.1) are very > buggy.
