Re: Any Free informix JDBC type 4 driver ?

that jdbc driver is ok for me.. i succesfully used it within mac netscape and internet explorer, and on Solaris Netscape45 and IExplorer 4. you could try to include it in the applet tag on the html page as an ARCHIVE, putting it in the same directory as your applet classes. it'd look like: <APPLET CODEBASE="classes" CODE="Myapplet.class" WIDTH="400" HEIGHT="100" ARCHIVE="ifxjdbc.jar"> where the classes are in a folder called "classes". this folder is at the folder you called the page. The jar file is in there too. (if it doesn't work move the jar a directory up). if this is not enough, if you're on unix, you should check your CLASSPATH variable. For netscape407 or 45 you shouldn't include much classes but just the special ones. (like the unbundled swing in jdk 1.1.x) it would be something like this: #setenv CLASSPATH $HOME/JAVALIBS/ifxjdbc.jar setenv CLASSPATH $HOME/JAVALIBS/VC2components3.zip setenv SWING_HOME ${JAVA_HOME}/swing-1.0.3 setenv SWING_JARS ${SWING_HOME}/swing.jar:${SWING_HOME}/windows.jar:${SWING_HOME}/motif.jar setenv SWING_CLASSES ${SWING_JARS} setenv CLASSPATH ${CLASSPATH}:$SWING_CLASSES notice i don't include ifxjdbc.jar, i suppose the users will download it directly in the <APPLET > tag, so they wouldn't give a sh... about their classpath. notice too there is no classes.zip or java40.jar. you can check my examples too at http://ict2.pue.udlap.mx/people/roberto/PeanoTreeEditor/class http://ict2.pue.udlap.mx/people/roberto/PeanoTree/class hope this helps as much as enough. =) On Thu, 18 Feb 1999, Andrew Ng wrote: > Hello, > I tried an informix jdbc driver from interwave.com known as ifxjdbc.jar > When my applet is activated on the server via webbrowser using " > file://pathname//test.html" , my program work perfect fine.
