Do you have something >outstanding with Informix? Or are you out to smear them? I think that the problem is some sort of server or network overload. I've been periodically getting extremely poor performance from various servers, even when accessed them from inside Informix. At one time, I got just 7 bytes per second as the transfer rate! And I'm sitting in an Informix office, albeit about 6 miles down the road from the Menlo Park offices, but we have a high speed connection between the sites (FDDI, I think). Big graphics don't help. I don't know whether the choke point is inside Informix's net or outside, but I've usually had the worst problems when accessing machines outside Informix. The long and the short of it is -- you may sometimes run into a slow Internet connection. Yours, Jonathan Leffler (johnl@informix.com) #include <disclaimer.h>
