Hi!
There is a very good thing (i think), you can use called automatic
backup of logical logs.
Turn on the script $INFORMIXDIR/etc/log_full.sh as ALARMPROGRAM in your
onconfig. Be sure that LTAPEDEV is not set to /dev/null.
Then every time a logical log becomes full and a log switch is made,
Informix does a onbar -l to backup this logical log.
Do you do your log. log backups to disk?
How to manage expiration dates of archives is the job of the storage
manager you use with onbar. You can't set anthing like this within
onbar.
There is a manual called Backup an Restore Guide (a very smal one) that
discribes the features of onbar.
