Hello,
I have large table obout 1 milion rows - 80 GB.
table_AAAA
Column name Type Nulls
id_name char(10) no
seria_name char(10) no
value integer no
For this table i have index:
create unique index i_table_AAAA on table_AAAA (id_name,seria_name)
using btree
Table table_AAAA is not increased. But index i_table_AAAA after four-
five days increased about 1 GB.
It is normal situation ??
How i can monitoring this index ??

You should state the version... By the index syntax I imagine it's 9, 10 or 11.
I maybe doing the wrong calculations, but I'd say your records occupy 10+10+4 =
24bytes.
For a table with 1M rows, 24bytes per row, this should be ~ 24Mbytes... you
wrote 80GB. Am I wrong? How did you get the 80GB value?
Anyway... a table doesn't shrink when you delete rows from it. An index can
shrink. So it's possible that your table has suffered inserts without growing
the occupied space. The index will possibly increase.
