Problems with STAR & INET PC

We are running 5.01 UD2 on NCR 3450 system V release 2.01.01 and experiencing problems with STAR process. In certain instances we notice STAR creating another child process. When this happens no one is able to connect to the SERVER using INET PC. We are using 5.01 INET PC. We have similar problems with SPARC 10 running 5.01 UC1. Any help is appreciated.
