Trying to install Informix Dynamic Server 7.30.TC3

I have been spending the whole day installing and uninstalling Informix. Everytime the installation completes, the Informix-Admin program group is not listed, there is no Database Explorer icon available. I have rebooted after the installs. I stopped all programs that were running during the installation. I still don't have the right icons, and the program files for DBExplorer are not on the hard drive either. Why won't this installer work? Peter DeSimone
