Problems running 9.40.UC3 on RedHat 8
Posted in 2004
I am having trouble creating an instance of Informix on RedHat 8. I
have read all the problems people have been having running on RedHat 9
so we decided to try RedHat 8. We have also upgraded the glibc to
glibc-2.3.2-4.80.8.i686. This was suppose to fix the problem with the
TCP/IP which we were getting running the Data Director for Web on the
earlier version of glibc.
When I try to bring up the instance with "oninit -iv", I get the
following from the startup:
Checking group membership to determine server run modesucceeded
Reading configuration file
'/opt/informix/etc/onconfig.kisd'...succeeded
Creating /INFORMIXTMP/.infxdirs ... succeeded
Creating infos file "/opt/informix/etc/.infos.kisdweb" ...
"/opt/informix/etc/.conf.kisdweb" ... succeeded
Writing to infos file ... succeeded
Checking config parameters...succeeded
Allocating and attaching to shared memory...succeeded
Creating resident pool 45800 kbytes...succeeded
Creating buffer pool 50002 kbytes...succeeded
Initializing rhead structure...succeeded
Initializing ASF ...succeeded
Initializing Dictionary Cache and SPL Routine Cache...succeeded
Bringing up ADM VP...
This is all I get. This is also what I have seen in other responses
from people who have had similar problems. Is there anyone who has
successfully brought up Informix? If so, what glibc and version of
RedHat did you use?
Thanks,
