There are some things which you can investigate: 1. Rewrite the queries to avoid the sort, or create useful indexes. 2. I read the NewEra/SetNet help files, which said: "Specifies the directory on the client computer that the ESQL/C processor uses to store temporary files (also called swap files)." To my mind, this means that the SetNet setting has no effect on the server-side DBTEMP. 3. In order to affect the server-side values, you should make sure that the correct DBTEMP is specified at the time you start the server-side sqlexecd program.
