Hi Greg, the absolute fastest way to load and unload using the hi performance loader is to use a "No Conversion Job". This will unload or load file in the Informix Internal Format ( Binary ). You will be amazed how fast this runs because nothing has to be translated from binary to ascii. If you need a shell or C program that creates an hpl job without the interface let me know and I'll send you one.
