Bar Codes

Greetings: Is anyone out there in netland printing bar codes (CODE39, in our case) from an application written in 4GL? If so, I would like to receive some pointers, as we are having difficulty doing it. We have written the code necessary to convert the data to a barcode bit pattern, but when we try to output it from our application using the standard report syntax of 4GL, we don't get what we're are looking for. Basically, we are using a ascii(255) to output a dib, and one would think a ascii(0) would cause the print head to advance one dib, but not print it.... Any pointers would be greatly appreciated!!
